Hello everyone,

We inform you how we managed to finish the production of the movie:
the sponsors' contributions were not enough to cover all the production costs and we did not find any support from the italian TV broadcasters, but we were strongly convinced that the movie should be shown to the public; So we decided to find financial support abroad. We went to Paris to approach a sectorial market where the French/German ARTE TV recognized the quality and value of the movie and decided to acquire it through a "pre buy" formula.
ARTE TV found it "Emotional, intelligent and sensitive".

"Ad occhi chiusi" (Eyes closed), will be broadcasted via satellite from May 2011 and it will be dubbed into French and German. This "pre buy" contract with ARTE TV gave us the chance to recover all the production costs and let the movie be shown all over Europe, and many other parts of the world.

Our Italian friends will shortly have the chance to see the movie at the cinema.
We remind you that the theatrical premiere will take place in Parma on the 28th of September 2010, on the biggest screen we could find!
We thank you all again for your faithful support.

Eyes Closed is not merely a documentary on the tango, but  a long anthropological research that aims to show how the tango is an artistic language that can "fix" the individual's problems of anxiety and loneliness related to contemporary culture and how it transcends the common notion of Argentinian territoriality to "mix" diverse cultures and traditions.

This project aims to explore, through the passionate and personal experiences of its main characters, the social, psychological and human effects that the Tango might have on our society. Thanks to the stories told to us by the Tangueri and tanguere, people who, at some point, decided to make the Tango an essential part of their lives, and the analysis of highly-rated, contemporary researchers (anthropologists, psychologists, sociologists), this journey, which will shed some light on what lies beneath the “world of the Tango”. It will give us the chance to reflect on the complex mechanisms that go on between man and woman, in that tangle of personal identity, social roles, cultural stereotypes, seduction, desire and fear. Emphasis will be put on the sacred, mystic, almost religious aspects of the relationship between men and women who dance the tango.
As Rèmi Hess once said: “When a man and a woman danced the Tango, the devil stood between them”. This will be the story of Rossana, a young Italian artist, who rediscovers her femininity by means of the Tango, going through a real metamorphosis which is enhanced by the sparkle in her eyes when telling her story. We will meet Nicola and Pietro, that fight their disease in the steps of tango.
These intertwined stories are enriched by the voices and faces of the numerous protagonists: ordinary people who attend the “Milonga Illegal”, teachers and professional dancers, highly-rated scholars and researchers in many different fields of discipline who share an interest in the study of psychological and sociocultural behaviour behind this passion.
